Reading Meetings

Held jointly with the National Trolleybus Association on the first Friday of each month at the Reading District Oddfellows Hall, Oxford Road, Reading RG1 7NQ (next to Holy Trinity Church). Admission: Adults £2.50, Juniors £1.50, non-members £3.50. Meetings commence at 19.30.

2017

Friday 3 November Exactly 49 years on from the closure of Reading's trolleybus system, Ray Smith and John Whitehead (authors of "War and Austerity) look back at Reading’s Transport during and after the Second World War.

Friday 1 December The Biennial Auction is back!  An opportunity for a pre-Christmas clearout, donate your unwanted transport-related items for sale in our fun auction, raising funds for the Society’s vehicle projects too!

Friday 5 January Mike Russell - Trams and trolleybuses of North Africa, 1974-2014.  (Digital images from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt, including the closed trolleybus systems at Tetuan and Cairo).

Friday 2 February Reading Buses CEO Martijn Gilbert makes his (slightly delayed) annual update on our favourite local operator.
